Shia LaBeouf's Accident "Eye Opening"
Shia LaBeouf was a bit stirred up after his July 27 traffic accident. He claims the accident was "eye opening and terrifying" and says he is "lucky to be alive."
The 22-year-old Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull actor told Entertainment Tonight, "The car hit me at 70 m.p.h.," after which his truck flipped over on a street in West Hollywood.
"It was one of the biggest things that's happened to me, for sure, in my life. I'm grateful to be here," said LaBeouf.
LaBeouf was treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for injuries he sustained to his head, left hand, and left knee.
The drivers of the other car, as well as LaBeouf's passenger, were not seriously injured.
After he was released from the hospital, LaBeouf was cited for driving under the influence.
According to the Sheriff's office, "He was showing obvious signs of intoxication from the smell of alcohol coming from his breath," said Sgt. Scott Wolf.
The actor has not been formally charged as of now.
According to a Sheriff's spokesperson, LaBeouf may not be at fault - the offending driver may have ran a red light.
