Hairspray Actress Speaks Out After Being Arrested in July
After her July arrest, Hairspray actress Nikki Blonsky tells Entertainment Tonight that she is just happy to be back with family, reports Us Magazine.
The 19-year-old says that she is very close to her family, and that the arrests haven't changed that.
"We are a tight-knit family. We're just happy to be back together. My family is my life. The best gift that I've been given is my parents," Blonsky said.
The actress, along with her father, Carl, were arrested in the Turks and Caicos on July 30, after a fight over seats in the lounge area, with Bianca Golden (America's Next Top Model) and her mother, Elaine, got physical.
The fight must have been pretty serious too, as Carl was jailed and given the felony charge of grievous bodily harm.
Blonsky went on to say that it was hard watching her family be criticized after the incident, "You have to protect them the best way you know how."
Besides being shown support by her family, Blonsky has also received support from her Hairspray cast mates.
"They have all been extremely supportive," Blonsky said of her costars and that she has been really helped by Zac Efron in particular.
"I love him with every inch of my body and soul. He has been an amazing support system."
