Sex and the City Prequels for Teens?
Attention all Sex and the City fans! Ever wonder what Carrie Bradshaw was like as a teenager?
Well, your questions will be answered, as apparently the adventures of Carrie and her friends are not just for grownups anymore.
"The Carrie Diaries," depicting the life of a teenage Carrie Bradshaw, will start appearing on shelves in 2010.
The announcement was made Wednesday that author Candace Bushnell, whose novels got turned into the hit HBO sitcom and a much anticipated movie, would be writing two novels aimed at a younger audience, reports the Associated Press.
HarperCollins said the book series "takes readers back to Carrie Bradshaw's formative years in high school, giving an inside look at Carrie's friendships, romances and how she realized her dream of becoming a writer."
Bushnell, in a statement released by her publisher, had only this to say, "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd - she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene."
So, for fans who simply can't get enough of Carrie and her pals and want to know what the teenage Carrie will be like, it looks like you will have another date to write down in your planners.
