Carrie Bradshaw's High School Years Won't Include Selena Gomez
If they're casting for a teenage Carrie Bradshaw, Selena Gomez will not be there.
At the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art last night, Gomez told reporters that she had no interest in being a part of the Sex and the City family. "That's not really the audience I'm going for," Gomez, 16, told E! Online.
"I mean, my mom loves the show and it's a very popular show, but that's not the direction I'm looking to take at this time."
If one teenage star doesn't want in, surely another one does. Miley Cyrus told TV Guide in July that she'd love to be part of the SATC cast. The Hannah Montana star said that she'd consider a not-so-dirty SATC. "I'd love to do a younger, cleaner version of 'Sex and the City,'" Cyrus, 15, said, adding, "I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand."
Wonder which role she'd play?
Also at the Teen Vogue party was cover boy Zac Efron with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, Rumer Willis, and Nikki Reed of the upcoming film, Twilight.
Recently, HarperCollins announced that Sex and the City author Candance Bushnell will write a prequel, entailing Carrie Bradshaw's teenage life. Undoubtedly, it will also be adapted into a movie or a TV event.
