Britney’s new single, “Womanizer,” will not be released this week due to issues with “the mix.”
Pop singer Britney Spears has worked the paparazzi and tabloid circuit to show off her toned-up body, the VMAs to take a second shot at a comeback, and now the star is releasing her official comeback album to mark her 27th birthday, except the first single is being pushed back due to issues with “the mix,” according to E! Online.
“Womanizer,” the title of the first single, was set to be released this week off of Spears’s upcoming album, Circus. Label sources said the release was pushed back due to “undisclosed issues with the mix,” though no elaboration was given.
"The mix was not finalized," a source told E! News.
A 40-second snippet was leaked onto the Internet after an intern at a Nashville radio station recorded the single while previewing it over the phone. The station posted the clip on their Web site but promptly took it down at Zomba Label Group’s, part of Jive Records, request.
Circus will be Spears’s sixth album and is set to be released Dec. 2 to coincide with the singer’s 27th birthday.
