The Hives Team Up With Eagles of Death Metal Frontman
24-Sep-2008

For a 24-hour birthday party.
Oh, to be a rockstar must be great.
You get to write music that thousands of people come to listen to (even though they have your record), and for around two hours, they absolutely love you. There's a romanticism about the profession that just isn't replicated very often.
Well, unless you write for a prominent Entertainment News site like The Celebrity Cafe.
But where the two professions seem to split is in the celebration of birthdays.
You see, we (writers) may celebrate by going out and having a few drinks and a nice meal.
But rockers like Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse "The Devil" Hughes celebrates with 24-hour festivities with The Hives.
Advantage: Musicians
The band has said that they plan on partaking in the activities with Hughes (who plays in the band that was started by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme - Homme plays drums) out in the California desert now that the two bands have a brief break from their tour.
"Jesse has a big plan -- we're going out to crash his studio in the desert and we're gonna do 24 hours packed with stuff he would like to do," said Hives drummer Chris Dangerous.
"It's his birthday so he gets to decide," added guitarist Nicholaus Arson. "If he says so we'll give it a try. We'll tag along and see what happens. He's quite a character."
So if you're out in the California desert today (Sept. 24) and you see The Hives and "The Devil," tell them The Celebrity Cafe says hey and have a safe and happy birthday!
