Sarah Michelle Gellar Returns to TV
26-Sep-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
That’s right.
Sarah Michelle Gellar will return to television for her first role since starring as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Which, by all accounts, seems to be great news.
The specifics of Gellar's return are that she has signed on to do a half-hour HBO program, according to Variety, called The Wonderful Maladys.
The pilot for the show was written by screenwriter Charles Randolph. It follows the lives of three adult siblings who face the wake of problems that result in the disfunction of losing both their parents at a very young age.
Gellar tells Variety that her new HBO program is "a terrific next chapter for me."
Gellar, who will also be on board as an executive producer of the show, will play a character that Randolph says has "a kind of zealous immaturity - like a drug addict with a to-do list."
All right, I'm hooked.
