Kevin Costner Putting Acting On Hold to Make Country Album
1-Oct-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
That’s right.
In November, Kevin Costner will put his acting career on hold in order to record a country album with his rock band, Modern West.
The 53-year-old actor, whose acting credits include Field of Dreams and Dances with Wolves, told People that he's been playing music with some members of his band for more than 20 years. So he felt comfortable performing at a NASCAR race this July, even though the audience didn't expect the performance.
"This just feels right," Costner said in a statement about his band, not mentioning that his previous film, Swing Vote, bombed at the box office.
Expect to hear several tracks from Untold Truths, his band's new country album, on country radio starting this week. If you're impressed with this, or just curious about what Costner sounds like, pick up the album at a store near you on Nov. 11.
