Rosie O’Donnell Back on the Air
2-Oct-2008
Written by: Alexandra Perich
Rosie O’Donnell signed a deal with NBC to headline an hour-long variety show/backdoor pilot to air live in prime time on November 26, Thanksgiving Eve, according to Entertainment Weekly.
C’mon, did anyone think Rosie would be off the air for long?
"This is a dream come true for any performer," O'Donnell said in a statement. "Old time variety, live from New York with a nod to Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett and memories of Sonny and Cher."
The special, appropriately titled “Rosie’s Variety Hour,” will start with a topical monologue, and feature celebrity guests, musical acts, comedy skits, and a giveaway for both the in-studio and at home audience,Entertainment Weekly reported.
For now, “Rosie’s Variety Hour” is just a one time special deal. But, who knows; if it’s a hit, maybe it will become a regular NBC fixture.
