Kung Fu Panda 2 Confirmed
4-Oct-2008
Written by: Justin Hazelton

Kung Fu Panda sequel confirmed for 2011.

DreamWorks, the creator of such animated hits as Chicken Run and the “Shrek” series, have announced that the sequel for the commercially and critically acclaimed hit, Kung Fu Panda, is set to release June 3, 2011.

DreamWorks has confirmed that Jack Black will come back as the voice of the Kung Fu-loving panda, Po. Other actors such as Angelina Jolie have also been confirmed to reprise their characters for the sequel.

In addition to the returning actors, the writers and the producer of Kung Fu Panda will write and produce the sequel.

To date, the original Kung Fu Panda has grossed $215 million domestically, $635 million worldwide with the cost of production only being $130 million. This makes Kung Fu Panda the largest-grossing non-sequel film that DreamWorks has ever created.

Kung Fu Panda comes to DVD and Blue-ray on November 9.
