Guitarist tells Rolling Stone he will likely stop performing at 67.
In an interview posted on Rolling Stone's Web site Friday, Carlos Santana said that he sees himself one day becoming a minister in a Hawaiian church.
Of course, the guitarist's music career, which is in full swing with Santana currently being on tour, will have to be over before he starts preaching.
Santana also told the publication that he is going through a great deal of pain after divorcing his wife, Deborah, after 34 years.
Santana went on to say that his strong faith has helped him through many of the low points he has experienced in his life, and that he would truly like to start a church in Maui.
"I'm going to stop playing when I'm 67 and work on what I really want to do, which is to be a minister, like Little Richard," Santana said. "I'm not sick of what I do, but I find that God gave me the gift of communication even without my guitar and with the ability to get people unstuck with certain sections of the Bible having to do with guilt, shame, judgment and fear."
