Drew Barrymore explores the single side of life and is loving it.
After Drew Barrymore’s breakup with ex Justin Long, the young actress has gained a new perspective and insight into her life.
Among the tidbits of wisdom gained from the relationship, Barrymore has vowed to live her life unrestricted, in a way that is not controlled by a man.
"My priorities have changed so much. I've been single for months now and I've turned my attention toward my passions, my friends, and the causes I believe in. It's been about learning who I am, not through a man, but for myself," Barrymore told Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
Barrymore, now 32, has had a slew of high profile relationships, including director Spike Jonze and the Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, and is, for the first time, single.
"I've had a couple fun, frolicky relationships, but really, I got out of a five-year relationship and I dated a few people here and there," said Barrymore.
With the relationship side of Barrymore placed on hold, she is able to reevaluate her priorities.
"I've been spending time with my friends and doing more traveling with the U.N. and challenging myself at work. I'm so happy with where my priorities are right now," said Barrymore.
The young He’s Just Not That Into You actress is focusing her efforts on getting people to participate in the November election.
"No one talked to me about politics or why voting is important. I became an avowed voter and feel it is really important to engage other people in it," Barrymore said.
