Janet Jackson is canceling shows left and right due to a mystery illness that caused her to be hospitalized in Montreal last week.
Jackson, on her first North American tour in seven years, went on to cancel shows in Boston and Philadelphia that were scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, MTV.com reported.
According to the Associated Press, Jackson's publicist sent out an e-mail late Saturday stating that the singer was postponing that night's show in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as a show in Atlanta on Sunday and one in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday.
"Janet was hoping to resume her tour in an effort not to disappoint her fans," read Saturday's statement. "However, after arriving in Greensboro, it became evident that she is not fully recovered. A local doctor advised that she not perform tomorrow."
While Jackson's publicist did not give any more information on her condition on Saturday, it was revealed that the singer is "recuperating" and will return home at her doctor's suggestion for further treatment.
The promoter of her Rock Witchu Tour is reportedly working on rescheduling the missed dates, MTV.com reported. Jackson has asked fans to keep their tickets for the postponed shows, which will be rescheduled.
