Playboy's Hef and Madison Call It Quits
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his girlfriend, Holly Madison, have decided to go their separate ways.
Rumors of the split had been circulating for a while, but Madison confirmed the breakup news to a TMZ cameraman on Monday saying, "Hef and I aren't together."
Her statement caused Hefner to also confirm the rumors he had originally denied. The 82-year-old told Us Weekly that he was devastated when the two split, saying, "I had planned to spend the rest of my life with Holly." He added, "I was road kill a couple of weeks ago."
The reason for the breakup was that the 28-year-old model and Girls Next Door star wanted to have children, but was unable to conceive with Hefner.
Despite the split, Madison will continue to appear on the E! reality series, Girls Next Door, with Hef's other girlfriends, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt. The show will begin taping its sixth season in early 2009.
