TV Wrap Up: Louis C.K.: Chewed Up
11-Oct-2008
Written by: Mike Harwood
Louis C.K. review.
“She’s probably got a bunch of tumors in her head.”- Louis C.K.
Louis C.K. is an angry, frustrated and bitter man. He hates deer, “the N-word,” and, to a degree, his own children. Even with all his filthy subject matter, his comedy is pure gold.
Last week saw the premiere of Louis C.K.’s newest Showtime performance, Chewed Up. The show delves into the most NC-17 content possible, but does so without coming off as too antagonistic and he seems, in fact, quite likable.
The hourlong program was simple: A man. A mic. Nonstop belly laughs. The old mantra of “less is more,” held true in this case as there was nothing to distract the viewer from the standup routine.
If you’re not too sensitive or politically correct, this special is for you.
