The drummer gives an update on his condition, pays tribute to lost friends, and thanks supporters via MySpace.
Travis Barker took a moment out of his recuperation Saturday to post a MySpace blog giving fans an update on how he’s doing and to say, “Thank you,” reports People.com.
After paying tribute to his assistant, Chris Baker, and bodyguard, Charles Still, who were among the four who died in the Sept. 19 plane crash, he took time to update the public on his own condition.
The former Blink 182 drummer posted pics of himself at the hospital and said that his recovery from the second and third degree burns he received from the crash has been slow.
"Like the doctors said from the beginning, its [sic] been a slow recovery process. I am coming up on the 7th of my surgeries Monday," he wrote.
Barker, in spite of the surgeries, had nothing but good things to say about the hospital’s doctors and staff, calling them “all bomb.”
The release of the crash's only other survivor, DJ AM, is also keeping Barker’s spirits up as he says, "Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration."
He continued, "I saw just how awesome the doctors' work here is, and got to see how well he is doing. I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky and grateful that we are alive today."
Barker also said he missed his children, but was thankful for the opportunity to still be with them in the future.
"Now Im just counting the days until I can leave. I can't wait to get home to play drums with my son, and go for bike rides with my daughter. I can't wait to see the pictures from Landon's 'Jack and Sally Nightmare Before Christmas' birthday party that we had for him today. I am bummed that I couldn't be there, but thank God I'll be around to see many, many more."
