“Hairspray” Actress Says Airport Brawl Destroyed Her

Actress Nikki Blonsky, who starred in the movie version of “Hairspray,” told People magazine that an airport brawl between her family and that of an “America’s Next Top Model” contestant left her “destroyed.”
Nearly three months after an airport scuffle in Turks and Caicos left her father jailed, Hairspray actress Nikki Blonsky said the aftermath of the brawl left her and her father "completely destroyed," according to People magazine.
The 19-year-old actress said she lives "every day in pain" since the family feud between Blonsky and her parents and America's Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden and her family.
"The hardest part for me is to see my parents walk around in severe upset and sadness," Blonsky said.
The incident occurred at the Providenciales International Airport. Blonsky said her family was waiting for a return flight to the United States after vacationing on the islands when Golden’s family grew upset over passengers saving seats in the waiting area.
Blonsky said the confrontation escalated when she asked Golden not to point her finger in her face. Blonsky said Golden then cursed at her and punched her with a closed fist.
Last week, Golden took to The Tyra Banks Show to tell a very different version of the incident. Golden said Blonsky kicked her mother in the groin and that Blonsky’s father, Carl, punched Golden’s mother in the face.
Golden’s mother, Elaine, was airlifted to a nearby hospital for her injuries.
Golden, Blonsky and Blonsky’s father face assault charges for the incident.
