Dallas Loses a Cowboy
Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo injured his hand against the Arizona Cardinals, and he could be injured for up to four to five weeks. This is a crucial injury because the Cowboys' week nine opponents are the reigning Super Bowl Champs and NFC East division leading New York Giants. Tony Romo's replacement is 40-year-old quarterback Brad Johnson. Although Johnson has won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Bucs, he is not Tony Romo. Maybe Johnson can hold down the fort and stabilize things on the road against the St. Louis Rams, at home Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and on the road again vs. New York Giants. Fortunately, the Dallas Cowboys have two winnable games in these next two weeks before playing their heated division rivals in the Giants. Looking at it optimistically, the Cowboys could conceivably go 2-1 the next three weeks before going into their bye week. At 4-2, this could leave the door wide open for the rest of the division.
