Zac Efron Not Going to Broadway Anytime Soon

Zac Efron will not be replacing Daniel Radcliffe in Equus.

Rest assured that Zac Efron is not taking over as the starring role for the controversial Broadway production, Equus.

Efron firmly said, "No," putting Internet rumors to rest that he would replace Daniel Radcliffe. "I think it's a great role but I was not approached," he said.

The High School Musical actor said he is going to stick to movies for now, but does want to branch out from the musicals.

"I think it's important to always diversify, change it up and play different characters. I think doing musicals all the time would get stale," Efron said Sunday at a press conference for High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Efron is prepared to take on a role in Footloose, which was made famous by Kevin Bacon.

"Footloose is heavily in development and we're hoping that perhaps next year it actually might be a reality," said High School Musical director Kenny Ortega.

"Obviously I would love nothing more than to do another project with Zac. I'm hopeful," said Ortega, who will be directing the remake of the '80s classic.
