Blake Lively's Dad Still in Hospital

Despite a huge accident where he lost control of a car and flipped the vehicle down an embankment on Monday, the father of Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is expected to make a full recovery. When Blake got word of the accident, she immediately rushed to the hospital from New York to be with her father, who also played her on-screen father in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies.

After being rushed to the hospital and being treated for arm, back and lung injuries, 61-year-old Ernie Lively was finally told by the doctors that he would be back to his normal state in time. "He's going to make a full recovery, thankfully. It was a horrific accident," Ernie's wife, Elaine Lively, said. "He swerved to miss a car and his car tumbled down an embankment."

"Blake is here, the whole family is here, and yesterday it didn't look good," Elaine told Us Weekly about her husband's recovery, adding that his injuries "are far less serious than we thought yesterday."

However, Ernie still has yet to be released from the hospital and will not be released for the time being.
