Brooke Burke Injures Foot on Dancing with the Stars
Brooke Burke, one of the contestants on ABC network's Dancing with the Stars, injured her foot, said an ABC spokesperson.
Burke was performing the jitterbug with her partner, Derek Hough, during rehearsal on Sunday afternoon. Burke came down too hard on her right foot when she was doing a front flip.
As a precautionary measure, Burke was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Monday morning for examination and X rays.
According to hospital officials, Burke simply had a severe bruise.
"She's a little sore, but she rehearsed today and she feels ready to dance tonight," said an ABC spokesperson.
Burke's injury marks the third contestant who has been injured on the prime-time show. Two weeks ago, Olympian volleyball player Misty May-Treanor ruptured her Achilles tendon and was forced to withdraw from the competition.
During the first week of the show, comedian Jeffrey Ross suffered a corneal abrasion when his partner grazed his eye.
