Nickelback Ready To Go Back On Top With New Album
26-Oct-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
Their new disc will come out on Nov. 18.
Chad Kroeger and the rest of Nickelback seem to be rather loose when talking about their new album in comparison to 2005's "All the Right Reasons."
Their sixth album, "Dark Horse," has a great deal to live up to, but Kroeger says that the band realizes how successful their last album was. But their new disk, "Dark Horse," seems to be a new disc.
Do you feel any pressure?
"No, because look what we have to try to live up to," says Kroeger, who co-founded the rock quartet in 1995 in Alberta, Canada. "There's a mountain sitting behind us. We've got to try and put something out now that's going to stand up to that. So for us, the bar has been raised ridiculously high."
"All the Right Reasons" has sold 10 million copies, according to Roadrunner records. It was in the top-30 of the Billboard charts for 110 consecutive weeks, and had seven hit singles and five No. 1 videos.
"If you're a fan of the band and you went out and got 'All the Right Reasons' the first week it was released, you'd be waiting for new material for, like, three years now," Kroeger says. "So it was definitely time for us to make sure that we had a new album and some new songs for the fans."
