Melrose Place Returns
According to the Los Angeles Times, the CW network is contemplating developing a new Melrose Place for the 2009-2010 television season. The CW has been encouraged by the ratings success of the remake of Beverly Hills, 90210 and appears to want to capitalize on that success.
Melrose Place was a '90s hit show which followed the lives of twenty-somethings who lived in an apartment complex in West Hollywood. The show was developed by Aaron Spelling and was a spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210. Melrose Place starred Heather Locklear, Marcia Cross, Grant Show, Doug Savant, Courtney Thorne-Smith, and Josie Bissett.
Melrose Place fans will want updates on their favorites like Amanda, Peter, Jane and Michael. Are Amanda and Peter still together on-screen even though it is obvious that Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner are together offscreen? Did Jane and Kyle have additional children? Is Michael still the chief of staff?
Melrose fans clamoring for updates may be disappointed. The success of Melrose led many of its stars to other hit shows. Savant is busy on Desperate Housewives, as is Cross. Kristin Davis is involved in the Sex and the City franchise. Thorne-Smith stars in the television show, According to Jim.
