Hudson's New Foundation

Jennifer Hudson has created a new foundation in memory of the loved ones she has lost.

After Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew were found murdered, Hudson decided to set up a foundation. The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims is named in honor of the Oscar-winner's mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King. While Hudson's mother and brother died of gunshot injuries in their home, King's body was found in an abandoned car three days later.

The announcement of the creation for the Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims was made after a prayer vigil at the Hudson family's local church in Chicago, Ill., late Wednesday night. "The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime. This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling," a statement from the Hudson family read.

According to People.com, William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister, Julia, is currently a suspect in the violent murder and is in police custody.
