The Pittsburgh Steelers were finally able to win a game against an NFC East opponent with Monday night's victory against the Washington Redskins. The score was 23-6, and the Redskins failed to generate any offensive production from their passing game and running game. Washington quarterback Jason Campbell threw his first two interceptions of the season to Tyrone Carter and Deshea Townsend. Pittsburgh had already lost to the Philadelphia Eagles and the reigning Super Bowl Champs in the New York Giants. As a result, it seemed like they had their heart set on defeating a team from the NFC East.

Fortunately for the Steelers, their two big playmakers in Willie Parker and Santonio Holmes returned to the starting lineup. Both of those two players had a touchdown, and they appeared like the Steelers of old. Ben Roethlisberger was hurt during the game, and Byron Leftwich entered the game. Ironically enough, Leftwich played well and managed the game by throwing for 129 yards and a touchdown. The Washington Redskins are now 6-3, and Pittsburgh improved to 6-2.
