Craig: We’re Ready for a Black James Bond
7-Nov-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
Maybe it’s a change we can believe in?
Though he's from the United Kingdom, Daniel Craig, the latest actor to play James Bond, is excited to see Barack Obama elected as the 44th president of the United States.
One of the reasons is because he thinks it could lead to another first. A black James Bond.
The Quantum of Solace star was relatively controversial when he was chosen to play Bond - because he is blonde.
"After Barack Obama's victory I think we might have reached the moment for a colored 007," the actor said. "I think the role could easily be played by a black actor, because the character created by Ian Fleming in the '50s has undergone a great deal of evolution and continues to be updated."
We'll see what happens after Craig's contract runs out.
