Jack Black has agreed to play a huge new role - Gulliver, from Jonathan Swift's fictional adventure book, Gulliver's Travels.
The film, which has been adapted from Swift's 18th century tale to fit a more modern world, will be directed by Shark Tale's Rob Letterman.
Black, who recently appeared in Tropic Thunder, will play a travel writer lost in the Bermuda Triangle. His world becomes increasingly crazed when he stumbles across an island of small people (both in size and stature).
Shooting for Gulliver's Travels begins in March 2009, and it will mark the first adaptation of the popular book since the 1996 TV miniseries by the same name. That version of Gulliver was played by Ted Danson.
