Katt Williams spent Thursday in jail on weapons charges, but posted bail in just enough time to make that night's gig at New York's Carnegie Hall, according to New York Daily News.
The paper reports that Williams, the "Pimp Chronicles" comedian, was arrested early Thursday when three guns were in plain sight inside his vehicles. His Mercedes and his Escalade were parked on Broadway. When Williams came to his cars, he told police they were his, and he was handcuffed.
Williams posted a $25,000 bail and was released just as he was supposed to be hitting the stage.
"Wearing baggy jeans and a satin shirt, [Williams] . . . spritzed himself with cologne and jumped into a black limo," the paper reported. "Half an hour later, it screeched to a stop near the rear stage entrance on West 56th Street, and Williams, surrounded by bodyguards, jumped out and disappeared into the hall."
Williams, 37, apologized to the audience for being late and said, "I'm not moving at my usual pace. I just got out of jail 35 minutes ago."
Recently, Williams has missed gigs. He missed being the host for the BET Awards, and he missed his slot on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Wednesday.
"I hope he's OK. I don't know where he is. Maybe he's celebrating this momentous day, I don't know, I don't want to make any assumptions. I hope he's fine, I hope he's OK," O'Brien said.
