Beyonce Wants to Be Wonder Woman

According to the Los Angeles Times, Beyonce wants to take on another role. As if Sasha Fierce and Etta James were not enough, Knowles wants to be Wonder Woman.

"I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?" Knowles has met with representatives of DC Comics and Warner Brothers to personally relay her interest in the role.

This role would be a departure from Knowles's prior acting roles which may be why she has an interest in stretching her acting chops in this way. Beyonce has played several musical roles in films including The Fighting Temptations, Dreamgirls, and her upcoming film, Cadillac Records. Knowles had a comedic role in Austin Powers Goldmember.

Knowles's interest was sparked when she saw Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman costume while touring the Costume Institute's Superhero show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Knowles acknowledged that the costume would require that she be in tip top shape. "I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume. The way that Lynda Carter wore it, she was sooo fine. She was amazing. I saw her costume at the Met. Her waist was unbelievable. It was pretty crazy, actually, her proportions."

Knowles is currently promoting her new album, I Am . . . Sasha Fierce, which hits stores on November 18.
