The New York Giants Create Separation
Late Sunday night, the New York Giants were able to remain undefeated within their division with a victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. The final score was the Giants 36 to the Eagles 31, and the Giants survived yet another brutal game on the road this year. Although the Giants were not able to sack Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, New York continued to establish their running game with a trio of running backs playing brilliantly. The Giants' three headed monster of Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, Ahmad Bradshaw, combined for a grand total of 217 yards and two touchdowns.
For the Eagles, quarterback McNabb threw for 194 yards along with three touchdowns tosses. Philadelphia pro bowl running back, Brian Westbrook, was held to just 26 yards. In addition, the Eagles defense only sacked Giants quarterback Eli Manning once. With the halfway point in the season, the Eagles have already lost all three of their games within their division. The Giants are standing atop the NFC East with a record of 8-1, nevertheless the Eagles are now last place in their division at 5-4.
