Former Desperate Housewives Star Hospitalized

Actor Jesse Metcalfe, formerly of Desperate Housewives, was taken to a London hospital following a near fatal tumble off a balcony.
Former Desperate Housewives cast member Jesse Metcalfe was hospitalized in Monaco following a fall from a second-story balcony in Monaco on Sunday night.
According to People.com, “The Desperate Housewives actor, who was in Monaco to help host the World Music Awards, was sitting on the ledge of a balcony at the famous Jimmy'z club when he toppled backwards and fell 30 to 40 feet, says his London-based rep.”
According to eonline.com, “Metcalfe, who played John Rowland, the erstwhile lover of Eva Longoria Parker's Gabrielle on the hit ABC series, was attending a bash at the Riviera hot spot Jimmy'z after hosting the World Music Awards at Monte Carlo's Sporting Club earlier that evening.”
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “The actor was taken to a hospital in Monaco before being flown back to London -- where he is currently staying -- on Monday. He was kept overnight and remains in medics' care.” As a result, the actor has restricted movement in his legs and will have to undergo some physiotherapy.
A spokesperson for the actor tells British newspaper the Sun, “He is a very, very lucky man. The accident could have been fatal.
“To have fallen that distance and not have any major injuries was a miraculous escape,” says the rep. “It was a very scary experience for him and those of us who saw him. It was a nasty fall. He was found face down on the floor. . . . It could easily have been fatal.”
