The Boss Supports Local Food Bank

Springsteen to appear in newspaper ad.
Bruce Springsteen has always supported his home state of New Jersey and this time is no different.
The rocker will be appearing in a newspaper ad for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. The bank is New Jersey’s largest and in the ad will be the line: “We Can’t Let This Bank Fail!”
The Associated Press reports that the Boss had been a longtime supporter of the food bank, for 23 years, by donating money made from his concerts or asking fans to bring food donations to his shows. He has never had his image appear in an ad for them before.
The reason for the ad is the food bank is saying that because of the economy’s condition right now, there is a 30 percent increase in individuals who need food and for the first time in the bank’s 26-year-history, it could cause them to ration supplies.
