Shania Twain Reemerges at CMAs
According to People Magazine, country singer and songwriter Shania Twain will return to the public spotlight as a presenter at tonight's County Music Association Awards show in Nashville. Twain has remained out of the public eye since the May announcement of her separation from her husband of 15 years, Robert "Mutt" Lange.
Twain has split her time between Canada, her native country, and Switzerland, her adopted country. According to sources, Twain "hasn't put down her guitar since the split. The songs are pouring out of her."
The CMAs have been very good to Twain. She took home the Entertainer of the Year CMA award in 1999. Twain was ranked #7 in CMT's 40 Greatest Women in Country Music in 2002.
Twain has won five Grammy awards and twenty-seven BMI songwriter awards. Her albums have sold over 65 million worldwide. Some of her most memorable songs are "Any Man of Mine," "Man! I Feel Like a Woman," "From This Moment," and "You're Still the One." She is considered a crossover artist for the ability of her songs to reach beyond the country music genre.
Twain and her estranged husband have a 7-year-old son, Eja.
