ABC No Longer "Pushing Daisies"

Word now is that ABC may not elect to continue Pushing Daisies. The surprise hit of last season may not be renewed for an additional season, according to sources. This week marked the wrap on the thirteenth episode of the season, and possibly the last new episode of the television series to ever be filmed.

An ABC official told news agency Reuters that some ABC network honchos are "still swinging in the fight to keep 'Daisies' on the air."

Pushing Daisies was a sleeper hit, charming audiences with its quirky premise, and lovable but odd lead characters. Things really started to go downhill during the writers' strike of late 2007, when the fledgling show was interrupted mid-season. Once the strike ended, more well-known shows regained their footing, while Daisies slowly began a decline . . . of six feet, to be exact. I'll be pulling for the series.
