Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Giants Preview
The New York Giants are coming off of a tough division win against their NFC East rivals in the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a high scoring affair with the final score being New York 36 to Philadelphia 31. That victory propelled the Giants to 8-1. Similarly, the Ravens are coming off of a victory last week on the road versus the Houston Texans. The final score in that contest was Baltimore 41 to Houston 13. Consequently, the Ravens went to 6-3.
New York will undoubtedly try to run the ball with running back Brandon Jacobs and their number one ranked rushing offense in the NFL. Nevertheless, the Ravens will attempt to impede their rushing attack with Ray Lewis and their number one ranked rushing defense in the NFL.
The key to this game may very well come down to rookie Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco. We have already witnessed teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts expose Flacco. If the Giants defensive end Justin Tuck and the rest of the defense can generate pressure on Flacco, then it could be an easy win for New York.
Another thing that the Ravens should be concerned about is Giants quarterback Eli Manning. According to NFL.com, two players from Baltimore will be on injured reserve for the remainder of the year. With the season ending injuries to Chris McAlister and Dawan Landry, Manning might try to throw the ball down the field.
