Kiefer Sutherland Jail Experience
17-Nov-2008
Written by: Becky Yardley

Kiefer Sutherland describes jail experience.

Sutherland, who completed his seven week jail sentence for DUI, describes his experience of life in jail for an interview in the December issue of Men's Vogue.

People magazine reports that Sutherland, 41, found the ban of smoking and being constantly watched the hardest part, saying, "The lights never go out, 24/7. You can't cover anything. You can't even put your head under a blanket. All the cells have cameras in them."

But he did take comfort in knowing he could quit smoking if he wanted to, "I was very glad to know that I could quit. And one day soon I will."

Unfortunately, he wasn't impressed with his roommate, after being promised a cell to himself, he was actually stuck with a cellmate for the first few weeks, Sutherland says. "He got out – but not for long. He came back in pretty quick."
