Kidman Unsure About Pursuing Career
18-Nov-2008
Written by: Marissa Willman

At the world premiere for her upcoming film, “Australia,” actress Nicole Kidman expressed uncertainty about the future of her acting career.

Actress Nicole Kidman alluded to the possibility of giving up her acting career to focus on motherhood and having more children, at a news conference in Sydney for the world premiere of her latest film, Australia, according to Reuters.

Kidman has three children: Sunday Rose, four months, with her country singer husband Keith Urban, and two adopted children with ex-husband, actor Tom Cruise.

"In terms of my future as an actor and stuff, I don't know," the actress said at the news conference. "I am in a place in my life where . . . I've had some great opportunities and I may just choose to have some more children. I've no idea what is in my future but I am very at peace with where I want to be."

"There are many things I want to do besides act," the mother of three said.

Kidman also acknowledged her "quirky taste," which led the actress to star in movies such as The Invasion, Birth, and Fur. The films notably did not do well at the box office but Kidman defended them.

"But that's my body of work. I am not going to apologize for it. I have kind of unusual taste and sometimes it's mainstream and a lot of times it's not," she said.

Australia opens nationwide on Nov. 26.
