2008 Mother of the Year Poll
18-Nov-2008
Written by: John Berkowitz

SAHMAnswers.com holds poll.

The year 2008 was a roller-coaster ride of oscillating historic events that made you shift and go with the extremity of the g-force that has you locked in. And it’s still not over. TheCelebrityCafe.com’s sister site, SAHMAnswers.com, is having a customized poll to everyone’s liking for “Mother of the Year” in 2008. The poll features some of the biggest names in entertainment and the political world that are all dubbed as mothers, yet have accomplished so much in this calendar year.

There’s Hillary Clinton, who vied for the Democratic nomination in the presidential race and fell just a hair short to now President-elect Barack Obama. There’s Tina Fey, who scored big ratings for SNL by doing a dead-on Sarah Palin impression. She also added 3 Emmys for her brilliant wit and contributions to the show, 30 Rock, on NBC. One half of TomKat – that would be Katie Holmes – sported a new hairdo on a big Broadway show.

Oscar winner Nicole Kidman may be in the running this year yet again with her love epic, Australia, costarring with fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman.

Breathtakingly beautiful model Heidi Klum is on TV reality show Project Runway and appears in this year’s Victoria Secret’s fashion show. Angelina Jolie gives a tear-jerking performance in Clint Eastwood’s Changeling and also gave birth to twins, thus expanding the Brangelina clan. Demi Moore is looking stunning and better than ever, as she is still Ashton’s girl and looking after the kids, taking a breath of fresh air.

Madonna released her own film, Filth & Wisdom, and amicably split from hubby director Guy Ritchie and may have sparked a romance that seems to be blossoming with Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez. Sarah Palin made history this year by being Senator John McCain’s running mate in his quest for the presidential candidacy. She’s got a full family and that folksy wisdom that twinkled in her eye. The last candidate is Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, who has been incognito as of late with regards to taking on many roles as she is heavily invested in her family.

Those are the 10 dynamic candidates who in addition to having all-star highlights this year have a rowdy brood of children waiting for them at home, which, after all, is the hardest of all. So vote for who deserves the coveted and prestigious title of 2008 “Mother of the Year.”
