“X-Men” Sequel to Be “Chuck'ed”?
19-Nov-2008
Written by: Susie Kopecky

Word on the gossip page is that the man behind “The O.C.” will be helming the next “X-Men” installment.

In what can either be described as genius or just daring, something entirely different has been thrown into the mix for the next installment of the "X-Men" series. Josh Schwartz, known to many as the mastermind behind NBC's hit action/comedy show, Chuck, apparently will be writing the "X-Men" prequel, tentatively titled X-Men: First Class.

Schwartz may be even better known for his involvement with pop culture phenomenons, The O.C. and today's megahit/the reason the CW is competitive again, Gossip Girl. Perhaps it is a bold and positive move on behalf of 20th Century Fox, as it appears that the upcoming sequel will star younger actors and thus may be seen as a magnet for younger viewers.

New creator or not, you can bet that the same diehards will tune in to any "X-Men" sequel anyway.
