Cody Linley and Julianne Hough Voted Off “Dancing with the Stars”

Linley and Hough were the most recent couple to be voted off “Dancing with the Stars,” following surgery and tireless effort.
The youngest contestant to ever appear on Dancing with the Stars, Cody Linley, and his professional dancing partner and country music singer, Julianne Hough, were the latest couple to be voted off Dancing with the Stars.
Linley went through a unique experience on the show, Hough had to undergo surgery to remove her appendix and several cysts on her pelvic region so for two weeks of competition, Linley had to go without Hough. Filling in for Hough during her absence was Edyta Sliwinska. Sliwinska has been the only professional dancer to have competed on every season of Dancing with the Stars.
Hough returned to the show in time for her and Linley to compete in the semi-final round of competition. Their first dance back together as a couple was a military-themed paso doble. Unfortunately, the show’s judges, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Len Goodman, didn’t give them favorable comments and their score for the dance was a disappointing 22 out of a possible 30. For the couple’s second dance, the salsa, the judges had more praising comments for the duo, yet they still only managed to get 24 out of 30 for that dance.
Whether or not your favorite couple remains on the show does not just rely on the judges’ scoring. The online, telephone and text messaging votes by the show’s viewers also figure prominently in the fate of the show’s couples. Despite the lackluster scores Linley & Hough received, fans of the couple still could save them from elimination with their votes. This seemed to be a viable glimmer of hope, especially given the large fanbase for Linley’s role as “Jake Ryan,” on the enormously popular Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana.
According to Realitytvworld.com, Hough was saddened by the elimination but optimistic about Linley’s future in Hollywood, “Hough described Dancing with the Stars as ‘probably the biggest thing’ Linley has ever done and sounded optimistic about his future now that the couple is off the show. ‘I think the opportunities are just going to flow to him,’ she said. ‘I think this is going to be a big thing in his life and his career. He's done an awesome job. I don't think he could've done anything more.’”
