Britney Spears Regrets Marriage

Pop star Britney Spears opens up about failed marriage to backup dancer Kevin Federline.
In a clip from MTV’s soon-to-air documentary, Britney: For the Record, troubled pop singer Britney Spears says she regrets marrying backup dancer Kevin Federline.
"I think I married for all the wrong reasons," Spears says. "Instead of following my heart and, like, doing something that made me really happy," she continues, "I just did it . . . for just, like, the idea of everything."
Spears and Federline wed in 2004 and had two children, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, before splitting up just over two years later.
After a very public meltdown and subsequent psychiatric evaluation, Federline was awarded sole legal and physical custody of their children and Spears’s father, Jamie Spears, was granted legal custody of her affairs.
In the documentary, Spears admits she feels trapped in her situation.
"If I wasn't under the restraints that I'm under right now, I'd feel so liberated," she says. "When I tell them the way I feel, it's like they hear me, but they're really not listening."
