“10 Things I Hate About You” Moves to TV

The Heath Ledger comedy is being adapted for ABC Family.
Gregory Peck’s grandson, Ethan Peck, will star in a TV adaptation of the 1999 teen comedy, 10 Things I Hate About You.
Peck will be playing Patrick Verona, the character that made Heath Ledger a star. Peck's previous work includes the Olsen twins’ Passport to Paris and a guest spot on That ‘70s Show.
The show will be aired on ABC Family and also features Lindsey Shaw of Aliens in America as Patrick’s feminist love interest, Kat. Kat was originally portrayed by Julia Stiles.
The show will focus on the struggles of Kat and her sociable sister, Bianca (Meaghan Jette Martin), as they start at a new high school. Nicholas Braun will play Cameron, a classmate who is smitten with Bianca, while Kyle Kaplan will take the role of Cameron’s friend, Michael.
The original 10 Things I Hate About You was based on William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and also featured Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Brick, Miracle at St. Anna) and Gabrielle Union (Bring It On).
