Ashlee Simpson gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday
Ashlee Simpson gave birth to a son Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, reported E!Online. The boy, named Bronx Mowgli Wentz, is her and husband Pete Wentz’s first child together. The boy weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20 ½ inches.
“Ashlee, Pete, and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for the well wishes,” a representatives told People.
Wentz explained Bronx’s name to Seacrest, saying that the couple were not trying to find an unusual name. “I want to meet the baby first,” he said. “My friend said it- you’ve gotta have a baby with a name that could be a rock star or a senator, so he’ll get work either way.”
Ashlee expressed her excitement about the baby in a blog over the summer, where she stated: “Carrying a child is the most inspiring, emotional, amazing experience of my life…I am only concerned with having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.”
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz married in May to speculation of pregnancy. The couple announced they were expecting a child in June.
