Why Timberlake/Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” Sketch Was Pulled
22-Nov-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril

The sketch was from the most recent episode of SNL.

If you have not seen the now famous Saturday Night Live sketch, "Single Ladies," featuring Beyoncé, Paul Rudd and Justin Timberlake (dressed the same as Beyoncé), then you seem to be in the minority in the United States.

Joining the majority might be hard in this instance, considering that NBC has pulled the sketch off of YouTube.

The reason for the action is because Timberlake agreed to do the sketch if he received "performance residuals" that come with any further distribution of the sketch.

This means that he gets a portion of the revenue from its airing on NBC.com or Hulu.com, which NBC owns.

The bad thing for Timberlake is that, while it was on YouTube, the "Sexy Ladies" sketch got over 600,000 hits. Which likely means that he lost out on a lot of money.

But, if you haven't seen the sketch, feel bad for Timberlake losing money, or simply want to see it again, head over to NBC.com.

UPDATE: The video clip was pulled from YouTube because of copyright issues and not because Justin Timberlake received compensation for replay.
