After months of training and competition, television personality Brooke Burke and her dancing partner, Derek Hough, were named the winners of the seventh season of “Dancing with the Stars."
"Unbelievable," Burke said after being named the winner, and as confetti showered her and Hough.
"I actually can't believe it," said Hough, a professional dancer who has yet to win the dancing competition. "I really can't. I honestly can't. The journey's been so long. It's been tough. It's been wonderful. It's been everything I could ever hope for. Wow. I can't believe we actually did it, girl."
Second place was given to former NFL player Warren Sapp and his professional partner, Kym Johnson. Sapp was a fan favorite though his technique was constantly criticized by judges. Though he received one point less than the third place finisher, Lance Bass, Sapp finished in second place.
"From the moment you start, you make me smile," judge Len Goodman told Sapp during the finale.
Burke and Hough also beat out former boy-bander Bass and his dancing partner, Lacey Schwimmer, who placed third. The dancing pair will perform on the “Dancing with the Stars” tour, which will start in San Diego on Dec. 17th.
"You never took the safe road once," judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Bass during the season finale.
Several previously dismissed celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Cloris Leachman, returned during the finale for a final dance.
