Michael Lohan Forced to Postpone Fight
28-Nov-2008
Written by: Amy Chandler

Michael Lohan’s parole officer forces him to postpone charity boxing match.

Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been forced to postpone his charity boxing match, reported the Associated Press. Lohan was scheduled to fight Future Tech Enterprise CEO Bob Venero on Monday for $30,000, but his parole supervisors will not allow the fight.

"Mr. Lohan was convicted of assault, which is a violent crime, and is currently under parole supervision until February of 2009," Heather Groll, spokeswoman for the New York State Division of Parole told the N.Y. Daily News. "We do not feel that participating in a violent activity, such as celebrity boxing, whether it is for charity or not, is appropriate for his rehabilitation. It is inappropriate for a person on parole to engage in the same type of behavior that landed him in prison in the first place."

Michael Lohan was arrested in 2004 for attacking his ex-wife’s brother. He was also charged with a DUI and spent two years in jail.
