Rachael Ray to Have Throat Surgery
Rachael Ray will be undergoing throat surgery on December 16, reported People magazine. The surgery will remove a small, benign cyst on her vocal cords. In response to earlier reports that the surgery was serious or related to throat cancer, Ray has said: "It's fine, it's just a little bump. I need to get rid of it though."
The usually talkative host claims that the most difficult part of the surgery will be remaining quiet. "I'm having voice surgery on Dec. 16, so we're going to celebrate very quietly," Ray said at Rosie's Gala on Monday night, reported Entertainment News tonight. "A lot of people have told me about the surgery and they say the hardest part is just being quiet." She also stated that she will be forced to communicate through notes. "I'm going to grow back the callous I had in grade school from writing," Ray joked.
The Rachel Ray Show will resume production in January.
