Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton Working Together
Although President-Elect Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton were bitter rivals, they seemed to have worked things out. According to the New York Times, a contributor in Peter Baker is reporting, "President-elect Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday will seal their rapprochement when he announces her nomination as his secretary of state, Democrats close to the process said Sunday."
Clinton is expected to travel to Chicago in order to meet President-Elect Barack Obama, and both President-Elect Obama and Clinton are determined to make this hiring work well for everyone. President-Elect Obama believes that Clinton would be a great addition to his staff. Clinton will be asked to make decisive decisions in regards to the United States' national security. In addition, President-Elect Obama is reportedly also planning to announce that Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates will still remain the same. Furthermore, General James L. Jones will reportedly be appointed to the national security advisor position.
