Tyra Banks Is the Next Oprah?

Banks is called a media mogul and may very well take Oprah’s place eventually.
Despite her successful career in television, former supermodel Tyra Banks does not think she is a media mogul.
However, after winning an Emmy and scoring hits with her reality program, America’s Next Top Model, and her daily talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, it is blatant that Banks is worthy of the title. Although her reality program about modeling has led to numerous international versions across the globe, Banks is adamant that it will be quite some time before she truly becomes a media icon like Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey.
“Don't get me wrong, ego-wise, when I see the cover of the magazines and they say that (I'm a mogul), I'm like, ‘Oh, that looks popping and it looks hot,’ but it ain't true,” Banks tells Ebony Magazine, insisting that her label as a “mogul” is not deserved. “Oprah's been doing this for 30 years. Mogul? That's like Martha Stewart. That's like going public. Mogul? Not yet.”
Nonetheless, Banks has hopes that she will truly become a media mogul one day and when it happens, she says, “I think I'll have an empire.”
