Boy George Abuses Male Escort

Boy George is on trial for false imprisonment of a male escort.
The former Culture Club front man has found himself in a mess. According to a court report on Monday, he confessed to handcuffing and threatening a male escort. The justification: George (real name: George O'Dowd), thought the man was hacking into his laptop.
O'Dowd met the man on the Internet, and after they met for an erotic photo session, O'Dowd became paranoid that Carlson was stealing the photos from his computer. The assault happened on their second meeting at O'Dowd's flat. "I asked him to come because I wanted to find out if this guy had borrowed my stuff," O'Dowd can be heard saying on the tape.
As if this isn't odd enough, apparently their first meeting also included bondage and beating, but with Carlson's consent. O'Dowd said, "You can't spank anyone if they don't want you to. Unless you want to get arrested." An excerpt of a recording made by police in 2007 was played in the courtroom, and jurors heard O'Dowd confess to the crime, justifying it by saying, "I absolutely admit I had him in the handcuffs, so he wouldn't go anywhere. . . . I certainly wasn't going to kill him, that's hardly going to do my career any good." And according to Perez Hilton, Carlson was not let go by O'Dowd. He escaped by "unscrewing the hook he was handcuffed to."
It's bad enough to have to go to court for assault. When you're on tape confessing the crime, the verdict seems obvious. The trial will continue this week.
